Welcome

Welcome to the home page of Grenfell Cricket Club.

ABOUT THE CLUB:

Grenfell CC run one Sunday team, playing friendly matches in South East London and North Kent and also played in the Voneus National Village Cup for the first time in 2021.

We play our home games at one of the best club grounds in the country; Bromley Common Cricket Club.

We are affiliated to the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) and Surrey County Cricket Club.

The club was founded in 1935 as the Grenfell House youth club team (named after medical missionary Sir Wilfred Grenfell) and playing in the Lewisham Churches league, graduating to men’s cricket in 1938 as Grenfell CC and incorporating players from rival team Invicta Road youth club and playing until 1940 and conscription. The club was resurrected in 1945 with several new players, playing 8 matches before National Service again took away players in 1946. But in 1947 the club came back again and has been playing ever since.

New players are always welcome, regardless of age or ability; we are a friendly, sociable and welcoming club. If you are interested in playing, get in touch with one of the club officials (below).
